ratio411,
Here is a link to the 2nd half of the set, I only posted the 2nd half because most have never seen it. The 1st half is far more common.

Also from the same series.

Nice material, especially the higher values. I have a few myself (most are lower valued varieties with conventional perfs.) For example, I think this is an R65:

As long as I'm on the subject of revenues, anyone care to suggest what the catalog #'s for these would be:

The first one is clearly damaged with pinholes throughout the face, but I believe that was considered an accepted cancellation for that series.

R65 is correct. Check the back for "Silk" fibers.
1 Cent Proprietary is part of the 1st Series #R3c. That is a Pin-Perf Cancel, Uncommon on early 1st Series Revenues. It was probably used on a check.

The 4 Cent is a 1st Series Proprietary #RB4a(Violet Paper)

Thanks for the info. R65 has no silk fibers; so I guess it's the minimal value variety. Interestingly, this stamp is cancelled even though it is not very easily seen from the scan; the rear of the stamp has the embossed cancellation showing right through.

By the way, I have a lot of revenues that are damaged; flaws, faults, torn corners, punched, pin holes, etc. I believe some may have been intentional methods of cancellations; others just abuse or carelessness when removed from paper. While catalog value is probably little to nothing, I'm working on the assumption that they are all worth keeping, as they are very colorful "Back of Book" material that could always be used as fillers until better examples are found, and many have stamped or handwritten cancellations dating the items to the 1860's.

Punches and Pin Holes ARE Cancels.
Don't toss anything! Their are times that the Cancel is worth MORE than the stamp, Regardless of condition! Example R2 with a A.D. Hand Stamp Cancel is at least $40 even with a piece missing! Some smaller Playing Card Co. Cancels even more. ANY 1st issue with a Mathew Brady(Civil War Photographer) Printed Cancel is a minimum of $100 no matter the stamp or condition!
In my 1st Revenue Collection, I had 2/3 of a R101 in my book for years as a space filler! I'm on my 2nd go round. My 1st was sold to pay off my College loans. I just wish I had held on to a few key stamps. Like Both of the "Persian Rugs".
