Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me, I have a 2 cent washington stamp from the 1920's with the initial D. on the back of the stamp. capital D. with a period. has anyone have any information on this I have no idea. I have researched for days.

It's either a marking from a dealer or collector in all probability, but whatever the marking is, it happened after the stamps were postally used.

If the stamps are common, run of the mill
I would go for a collectors mark, "D"=duplicate?

He probably didn't realise stamps are only on loan to us
we never really own them, but for a short time.

Other marks can be traced to "expertisers" marks
and dealers as explained before.
There are "expertisers" web links available with
traceable icons.
