I am stumped trying to find this South Korean stamp. Scott catalogue #1265 described as dull lilac colour. This one is green; I have two identical stamps. Could this be a colour changeling? Seems strange to go from lilac to green!
Probably a changeling- the printers mixed red and green inks to make the lilac-brown, and the red's faded. It's like those bluey-green reproductions of paintings that you see in thrift shops- the reds have faded in those.
Hey Flightle_Bee, thanks for your reply. I'm curious how the red ink could fade so entirely. I have another stamp from Czechoslovakia in which the red is entirely missing. The paper has aged (toned) but all other colours appear correct. It has puzzled me for a few years now since I found it.
