Metropolitan Postcard Show Manhattan, NYC June 5 - 6
2026 June 4
IF you are in NYC the Metropolitan Postcard Club will be selling postcards and postcard covers. Definitely items of philatelic interest to stamp collectors as well as a wealth of items for postcard collectors. One example is a Two-Day Show: Friday, 6/5 (12 PM* to 6 PM) and Saturday, 6/6 (10 AM to 5 PM)ostcard from the PANAMA-PACIFIC EXHIBITION exhibition featuring one of their exhibits, the event's postmark, PLUS the 1 cent stamp issued by the US post office for the series (Scott 397). An attractive combo for both stamp and postcard collectors. Got that for just $1.

ALL 2026 Metropolitan Postcard shows will be held at the Church of the Village (enter on 7th Avenue, just north of W. 13th Street)
Accessible entrance is available at 201 W. 13th – ring bell for admittance
Just steps away from the 14th Street 1/2/3 Subway station!

Hope you can make it

Any news on when the upgraded website (which seems to have been in development for years) will be ready? It used to be a fantastic resource.

Still a work in progress as the club is not as large as it used to be. It is attracting a younger crowd but with the online world firmly established after 25 years, I find that they may attend a show but take some time to join a club. Although I am nearly 60, I did take me sometime to get into postcards too. In fact, my interest in postcards and postal covers has grown much although I still have stamps I enjoy collecting.

Here is the site (not yet renovated) - https://metropolitanpostcardclub.com/

One neat postcard I got from the June show was a beautiful and idyllic nature scene along the old Morris Canal that used to run between Bayonne and Jersey City. NJ. Condition was pretty good and the stamp used seemed to be quite tantalizing - definitely a booklet stamp from the period 1908 - 1912 but unsure whether the expensive 331A or far less expensive 374A. ince the postmark is 1912 I am going to go with the more common 374A (which still has a worth more than the sheet stamp 374). And I don't want to go through the trouble of removing it as the card itself shows something that has not existed for decades since the canal was filled and became a highly dense urban area long ago. If time permits I will upload to the appropriate forum. Culling through and organizing my postcards and it is taking me hours!!!!!!
