This is not a disaster card, per se, but it closely relates to the San Francisco earthquake. Immediately following the quake, Lotta Fountain, at the intersection of Market and Kearny streets, served as a meeting point for many survivors. In 1919 and for decades afterwards, survivors would gather at the fountain every year on April 18 to commemorate the event, until the last of them passed away in 2015.

The fountain was built in 1875 and still stands today. This card is from 1904 just a couple years preceding the earthquake. The Palace Hotel behind the fountain burned in the great fire, but was rebuilt.
