As per the title, is there wide demand for Cyprus stamps or is it a much more niche category?

I collect classic-era Cyprus, just as I would another Commonwealth entity. I suspect that will be the case for a significant number of collectors. My interest lessens after KGV, and drops off a cliff after KGVI, though.

Nice stamp.

Similar, although, as there are no cliffs in London, my BC collection as a whole runs to independence or 1970, whichever is earlier. So 1960 for Cyprus, cf. 1947 for India.

I am a bit biased here, but Cyprus is one of the few countries that hasn't jumped on the bandwagon of senseless issues to fleece the collector. They produce a limited number of issues each year and most, if not all pertinent, to the country, its history and culture. the Cyprus Post philatelic counter has a hard time keeping up with orders. So I collect modern issues as well as classics while dabbling in post republic postal history and military/civil censors regarding the anti-colonial movement.
