China: Peking Martyrs Vs New Peking Martyrs

The China Stamp Society Specialized Catalogue says that the 8 cent New Peking Martyr of 1941 is a full millimeter wider than the original 1932 version of that design. But there's no mention of a similar difference of width for any other value.

So, are all the New Peking Martyrs wider than the originals?

It is on the 8 cent and the 50 cents stamp and the difference is 1/2 of a mm . 19mm and 19.5 mm .

No, because the original plates were used for all but the 8 cent value which was re-engraved.

To follow up the original question, if the other New Peking stamp values (non 8 cents) all used the original dies to print the stamps and the colors are the same, what is the best way to distinguish between the Peking Martyr stamps, printed in 1932-1934 and later, and New Peking Martyr stamps, printed in 1941 (excluding the 8 cts stamp)? I recently saw most of the unissued New Peking Martyr stamps without overprints listed in the catalog offered in an auction. How do I confirm authenticity? The CSS catalog for the New Peking Martyr stamps provides information on 2 types of the 10c, 20c, and 50c but no information on distinguishing the 1c, 30c, and 40c or differences of the 2 types of the 10c, 20c and 50c to the original Peking version. The original question and answers didn't clarify this.

Thank you for the reply. The pdf file contains very similar information as the CSS catalog primarily regarding the paper types for the New Peking Martyr issues. Unfortunately, neither really say what the paper type is for the original Peking Martyr stamps or how to distinguish them.

I did a search of the Kelleher auction website looking at the auction catalogs with China stamps over the past couple years and could not find anything on a New Peking Martyr exhibit being sold, but I may have missed it. Do you know which auction you are referring to or how long ago the auction was?
