Spring-back Binders - Repairing Of.
I'm still a huge fan of spring-back binders and just recently bought 7 New Lighthouse binders at an auction. They were new in 1980 but had been poorly stored and so two of them failed after only a few bends to insert pages. th others are still TBD.
I contacted the auction house and told them of my dilemma and they promptly refunded my money. I have thrown out failed spring-back binders in the past but I resolved to try and repair these failures.
If you're interested in how to fix, send me a note and I'll give you the whole lowdown. You'll need something to spread the spring device apart; I found the perfect devices on
Amazon. A 1.75" diameter dowel; JB Weld plastic bonding epoxy,; and some clamps. For the finishing touch you'll need some art paper and Krylon spray adhesive.
