I'm trying to decide what to use to house a set of the vintage reproduction pages which are sized for the blue international binder.
I've read the different threads which cover the pros and cons of different album approaches to world-wide collecting but still can't make up my mind about a binder.
Some people specifically call out the life flat difficulty with the blue international binders.
I keep my German collection in several Schaubek albums which are also two post but those benefit from the vertical slots that allow the pages to fold easily and lie somewhat flat. I don't think the blues work as well as these?
I did take some international sized pages and three holed punched them and have tried them in different binders that are large enough that the pages don't overrun the covers but turning the pages over the three thing binders is not a very smooth maneuver.
Do you use those blue international binders? How bad are they?
Thanks for any tips you can share - I may have to buy an old one and just try it for myself.
I bought a new pair of Scott internationals back in 1982 with a 1840-1940 new set of pages. I still have my binders. I also bought a pair of slip cases a little later time and still have those as well.
I have sold and refilled the binders several times over the decades with remainders of collections I bought. I kept my binders and filled the crummy ones I would get with a collection.
But I tended to treat mine with some care. Some I get with collections are truly awful.
