And, here is a modern German (BRD) window envelope which was damaged by mail processing. The quadrille design of the envelope's stiffener can be seen. The label boldly states "damaged". The location and date of the damage and repair are presumably described by the Schwaebisch Hall 1, 12.12.73 postmark. The official repairer/sealer's initials are written on the label, as is his/her witness. |

Andre, I am not au fait with the scope and details within these 3 tomes. Mr. James Drummond is a member here, if you intend purchasing, you may wish to email him for details. Good Luck Rod.

Quote: I have seen WORLD etiquettes in "Drummond's Catalogue of Philatelic Miscellany Part 2 M to P" I have never seen the inside of one of Mr. Drummond's catalogs, but a .pdf of an update can be seen at http://www.ericjackson.com/PDF/UpdateKit1.pdf which will give an idea of the level of detail in them ... |

This block of six French language "INCONNU." (Eng.: unknown) postal labels appears to be from ca. 1900-50. Each label measures 29mm x 17.5mm, perf tip to perf tip. |

It has occurred to me that these labels could be from wartime, when homes, businesses, and people could be lost, or in transit without a way to be found. |

INCONNU = UNKNOWNUsually aux marking show RETOURAskphil: IG : Inconnu, inspection garde (Fr), unknown, on undelivered ,retained letters 1790. I was sure I had similar etiquettes in yellow, my database failed. I tried all 61 pages here, INCONNU label not noticed. http://www.exponet.info/exhibit.php...D=222&lng=EN |

Stumped!FLORIDA Registration Label. The "R" has been torn off, which prevents ID. Blue appears to be British, but no FLORIDA apart from US or Argentina. Anyone? |
