European hare ( Lepus europaeus), a semi-postal (charity) stamp designed by Swedish artist Signe "Ham" Hammarsten-Jansson (1881-1970), combined engraved by Stig Rönnberg and typography (Cross of Lorraine), and issued by Finland on October 1, 1962 as one of a set of three stamps benefiting tuberculosis funds, Scott No. B163, Facit No. 555. - nethryk PS On this date in 1949, Long-Haired Hare, starring Bugs Bunny, was released in theaters. This photograph of cute rabbits decorates a semipostal stamp "Für die Wohlfahrtspflege", for diverse welfare projects. Germany 2007.  (Hi, Nethryk, Those Swedish stamps are lovely; in the first, on the mounted carrot, one can read "Carrot found by Uncle Fig, 1898.) |
