I just started collecting windmill stamps. Maybe you guys/gals could share your windmill stamps here.

I'll post mine from Greece later, scanner is not working at the moment.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum Windmill. With a name like yours I can understand your interest.
Here's a subtle Dutch windmill stamp.

Meanwhile, check out this previous thread on the same topic. I'm sure you'll appreciate it.

Here is a first day cover from Finland, issued 26 January 1956, to commemorate the return of Porkkala to Finland. The area called Porkkala had been adminstered by Russia since the war between the two countries ended, and was officially returned to Finland on the issue date.
Stamp, cover and cancel all show the lighthouse at Porkkala.

Hi Jamesw,

Oh, is it very obvious that I like windmill stamps? BTW, I do collect worldwide stamps and it just happened that windmill stamps got my attention.

Thank you so much for the link and you are correct, I enjoyed watching it. I've been searching this forum for windmill stamps but I don't have luck (I use the search engine tools). I guess, i'm so new on this forum that I don't know much how to use it.

We have a trains thematic collector in our club.
Also a butterflies, elephants and penny blacks[any stamps with an image of the first stamp ever] but no one saves windmills great idea.
I guess you have to be very patient, but also it keeps your costs down, well done.

How do you define the limits your collection?

Only those stamps where windmills are the topic of the issue, or also those where a windmill happens to be shown on the stamp?

In the latter case here's another windmill from the Netherlands, issue directed to the Dutch film festival, the stamp showing a 1 second movie (sequence of pics appearing when the stamp is moved). The movie can be viewed at
