It came in a wad of stamps from the early Soviet Union era (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine etc.)

I like a good challenge, but other than noticing the kopeke denomination I got nothing...have to admit I'm stumped...

They used kon as a currency in Batum, far eastern republic, Finland, Latvia, and the Russias (white, south and plain old.)

Is this any easier on the eyes? Seems to be two figures.

(This image has been manipulated...this is not an actual stamp. That should be obvious, but I guess it can't hurt to say it.)

[edit: It looked better in my image program than it does here... ]

I just saw something thanks to CD's image; It appears there may be a name at the top!

When I get home, I will do a higher resolution scan.

Thanks Nigel!

That made it (and 2 others) easy to find on eBay.

Perhaps this should be moved to the Cinderella thread? (Well, that can have boguses in it too, right...)

Nice job, nigelc. I recognize the blue 25k...there are several more "values" in this "set." I might even have a set...I might even have a guess as to where to look, too.

As it turns out, I have the 25k blue and 50k brown, perforated. I will post them when I finish barbequing some chicken wings
