Beautiful images, Nitro!

I see that you're hosting these -- would it be correct to assume that they're your scans? If so, great job! What software and settings do you use? They're beautiful.

Wonderful, Nethryk! I know this is not your usual milieu -- engraved stamps -- but thanks for thinking of this lithographed stamp!

Also, special thanks to Alexey, Kuhli, and Rod222 for your great contributions!

Philatarium - Thanks! Lo and behold, I found another engraved one for you: Rasmus Storm Josva Berthel Berthelsen (1827-1901) was a Greenlandic teacher, poet, composer and editor. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Rasmus Berthelsen with Inuit students in a library, designed by Greenlandic artist Jens Chrisitan Rosing, engraved by Arne Kühlmann, and issued by Greenland on May 29, 1980 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of public libraries, Scott No. 134, Facit No. 123.

Dr. José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia y Velasco (1766-1840) was a Paraguayan lawyer and politician who in 1816 became the country's dictator for life. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Dr. Francia seated in a library, engraved and printed by American Bank Note Company, and issued by Paraguay on September 20, 1940 as one of a set of four stamps commemorating the centenary of the dictator's death, Scott No. 385.

What an inspiring display of stamps! As a retired senior librarian, libraries are near and dear to my heart. Books and libraries are vital to any society and culture. These stamps make me want to look for more to add and perhaps consider a topical collection. Once again, collecting stamps is so cool!
Thanks everyone for sharing all these great scans.
I'm off to check my collection for the above and see if I have any to add.

Kathey - Glad you like 'em too!

Here is an image of a "split screen" stamp depicting a 17th century print shop on the left side, and a student in a library on the right, designed by Swedish graphic artist Karl-Erik Forsberg (1914–1995), engraved by Czeslaw Slania, and issued by Sweden on September 22, 1961 as to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the regulation requiring copies of all Swedish printed works to be deposited in the Royal Library, Scott No. 601, Facit No. 527.
