Here is an image of a stamp depicting a woman wearing the traditional Norwegian bunad costume of Setesdal, designed by Knut Lřkke-Sřrensen, printed by lithography, and issued by Norway on April 20, 1989, Scott No. 940, Facit No. 1057, plus a photo of a dancing couple attired in Setesdal bunad.

Laplander (Sami) with a lasso, semi-postal (charity) stamp designed by Finnish artist Olavi Vepsäläinen (1927-1993), combined engraved by Stig Rönnberg and typography (Red Cross), and issued by Finland on November 24, 1960 as one of a set of three stamps benefiting the Red Cross, Scott No. B158, Facit No. 533.

Gafsa is a city in south west Tunisia that is both a historical oasis and a center for the country's mining industry. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a woman of Gafsa, designed by Tunisian artist Hatem El Mekki, engraved by Robert Cami, and issued by Tunisia on October 24, 1959, Scott No. 345. Bonus: Camels.

Here are images of the three semi-postal (charity) stamps in a set depicting young women wearing the traditional costumes of the Swiss Cantons of Appenzell, Valais, and Graubünden, printed by photogravure (Courvoisier, S.A.), and issued by Switzerland on December 1, 1934 to benefit children's welfare funds, Scott Nos. B69-B71.

Hi, Nethryk, Are you a bit lonesome on this thread? Do you know what happened to the person who began it?
Germany issued two series of semipostal stamps in 1993 and 1994 depicting many of the traditional costumes still worn for festivities and pageants.
