Cool FDC. Does it have anything to do with the stamp on the envelope?

I cannot find any information on "Tobias and Harpy"
Any members know of the symbolism / story, please?
Harpy = Half woman half bird (modern = grasping woman)

Thanks Kuol.
Jacek Malczewski (1858-1929), Polish painter.
Ellenai comes from a scene from Juliusz Slowacki's poem called Anhelli, in which the sufferings and miseries of deportations of Poles to Siberia are told.
A harpy is an evil creature in old stories with the head of a woman and the body of a bird.

Here is another nude stamp featuring the artwork of Akseli Gallen-Kallela of Finland. This one is from a set of six stamps (three 2nd class and three 1st class) issued on March 1, 2006. This 2nd class stamp does not show a "fine art" painting, but rather a poster that Gallen-Kallela created for a car company in 1907.

From courses.nus.edu.sg, "1907 A nude woman becomes the rapturous icon of the technological and sexual revolutions in a diabolic flaming red cabriolet built by Bil-aktie-Bol Car Company, Inc. Significantly, it would seem that already in 1907, Gallen-Kallela realized the commercial potential of fast cars and attractive women. The poster utilizes feminine beauty as a decoy to attract the male buyers eye...The Kalevala folk story of the snatching of Kyllikki has been transformed: the sledge becomes a red car and Lemminkainen, the hero, is a besuited motor-car fanatic."

On February 18, 2004 Singapore issued a sheetlet of 10 different domestic rate (23c) "paintings" stamps by Singaporean artist Liu Kang (1911-2003). Stamps were issued in both water-activated and self-adhesive formats. This self-adhesive stamp (SG # 1389) depicts Kang's 1957 oil painting Siesta in Bali.

From wikipedia, Liu Kang was a Singaporean artist known for his Balinese figurative painting. In May 2003, the 92-year-old artist gave the majority of his paintings and sketches, amounting to over 1000 pieces, to the Singapore Art Museum."
