Surely these are the most elegant boots any cat ever wore. The story by Charles Perrault, the engraving by Mörk, the set issued in 1997. Perrault was a 17th century french writer and collector of stories and fairy tales. The Grimm brothers followed in his footsteps much later.

The drawing for this semipostal stamp, 1971, was done by a youngster who called the cat "Zauberer" or magician. The fancy black boots are well drawn because they show that the cat has paws, not feet like we do.
