Hi everyone. Not sure I posted this in the correct forum.

I purchased some 2015 Vintage Forever stamps on Ebay and just received them yesterday.

I found out after purchasing them that there is a high level of probability that they are fake and to beware. I wrote back the seller because figured they can't write me a bad review lol and they said they got them from Ebay too but had some left over from a mailing they did. They claimed they had no issue using them.

They were selling about 13 sets of the 5 sheets of 20 so that seemed to be a lot to be left over for a mailing they claimed to have had.

I decided not to cancel because the picture in the listing looked legit.....the #5 looked to be what one would find on the genuine stamp. After examining mine, the '5' if different, the stem is cut at bottom and seems to be more pixelated but not sure.

How would I know for sure these are fake?

I uploaded a pic but could only upload low res due to restrictions.

Thanks.

If you use the "search" function on this page and enter the stamp you will find several posts devoted to these modern forgeries. No real need to start another post for these.
You can find the "search" function on top of this page, almost where the login is.

I also have some of these counterfeit sheets I purchased on eBay. The quickest/easiest way to identify the fakes is to flip the pane over and examine the back of the pane. The last line of text on the fakes reads "Sign up for the latest stamp new and stories via email" (it uses the word "new" rather than "news".

The break in the stem is a dead giveaway.
