This seller has several other "bluish papers" that are clearly plain old regular paper as well. |

Well, s/he's "...trying to do the best for each costumer". ...and I'd say they're off to a great start, putting that pretty blue makeup on that 1c stamp! Outstanding costume. Anyway, I think I'm going to go after that "Scott 541" in the rare "ANTHRACITE GRAY" shade... Who knew that genuine 541's could be offset printing, type III and perf 11 all around? The less knowledgeable would probably think it was just a common Scott 529. But it's got a cert! https://www.ebay.com/itm/263291637928 |

The main bidder on both of those stamps is the same person O****K (227) which would make me think that there is something amiss with those listings, besides the obvious misidentifications. |

I think the expert says a lot when he describes a used stamp as "...used, without original gum..." |

4873 would be North in the Denver area. Centennial is South of Denver. Leo Lane in Thornton (north) although the zip is Centennial. |

I also loved the 'used without original gum' line! (Would love to see a used stamp w/original gum?!)
However, can't generate alot of sympathy for these buyers - if you're that naive, you deserve what you get...but I doubt there are many 'real' buyers in this case... |

I'm resurrecting this topic, simply because the seller, or one similar to the seller the OP mentioned, is back in action with the 'rare certified' stamps under the username alibfe. The same 'expertizer', many 'rare' stamps, and unfortunately too many sales. I understand the thought process behind not being naive enough to be fooled by the sales, but to go as far as to fake a certificate can unfortunately be enough to fool some of the less versed in this community (I would consider myself a skeptical novice, but the first time I saw his/her post, I fell for believing the cert was real, simply because I was unaware of the detailed certification process, and thought that faking certs would be too far for even the slimiest of sellers. What's the best mode of action against this seller, if any? |
