Is there anywhere on the internet where I can look up numeral postmarks of the Australian states so I can ID what cities/towns they were from?

A lot of this information is on another forum, but I can't vouch for its accuracy.

We have a thread for New South Wales here:

http://goscf.com/t/58014

If in any doubt, please post here so we can help. I'm sure there'll be people with excellent knowledge of the other States

I had a look at Partime's link. The listings aren't comprehensive enough.

For Queensland, this site is outstanding:

I have the reference material in hard copy. Ask away by posting images of the cancels and I'll do all I can to help.

Numeral 27 is a great example of why Partime's link is somewhat inadequate.

This numeral was first allocated to Huskisson in 1850, with this office closing at the end of 1851. Therefore, this TYPE of postmark will only be found on Sydney Views and Laureates.

The numeral (NOT the device) was reallocated to Rockley, probably in 1857 when the first rays type was issued. There were two device types used at Rockley, both pictured below.

The R Rod refers to stands for reallocation.

I haven't been there for decades, so I can only imagine how much it's been touristified since I visited last.
