Hello Space Cadets.....thanks for scanning some very nice space stamps - keep up the good work.

I found this set in a el-cheapo big box collection....still fresh after 44 years

Ras al-Khaimah 1971

Ras al-Khaimah produced a large range of space stamps in 1972, and for those interested this website shows them along with other topicals

Astérix A-1, the first French satellite, was launched on November 26, 1965 by a Diamant A rocket from Hammaguir, Algeria. Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting the satellite spiraling away from Earth (a bit of artistic license!), designed and engraved by French artist Jacques Combet (1920-1993), and issued by Senegal on February 19, 1966 to commemorate this launch event, Scott No. C43, plus an image of a model of Astérix A-1 in the Air and Space Museum in Le Bourget, France.

The European Telecommunications Satellite Organization (Eutelsat) was originally set up in 1977 as an intergovernmental organization to develop and operate a satellite-based telecommunications infrastructure for Europe. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a Eutelsat telecommunications satellite in orbit, designed and engraved by French artist Jacky Larrivičre (1946- ), and issued by Monaco on November 7, 1985 to commemorate Eutelsat, which in 1983 launched its first satellite to be used for telecommunications and TV distribution, Scott No. 1495.

Hi everyone, I am fresh out of the oven. I have just started stamp collecting and collect only Space-themed stamps. Please pardon my scanning and editing techniques if these pictures give you a massive headache. Hope to share my album here. You could find many types of stamps, there are completed and incomplete sets, used and minted stamps, cancelled-to-order stamps, charity stamps, surcharge stamps, imperf stamps and even some Cinderellas. Please enjoy them and thanks to the others who have shared their wonderful stamps here.
