A guy I know has come accross a bunch of german stamps and one of them is a cinderella I think. Theres nothing on it other than a palm tree and a swastica. Anyone ever see one of those and can they give a ballpark date and value?

Hello Mark
These are stamps that were produced solely for use by soldiers attached to Rommel's Afrika Korps.
Some of these fetch good prices on cover from the African theatre during WW2. Some covers appear to have a rubber stamp on 'fieldpost' covers bearing the same design with the palm tree and the swastika. These can be expensive. However, the labels with this design can sell as cheaply as $50.00 and working up. Siome of these are expensive as well.
If you can understand a little German, you will find more information on these stamps in the Michel Deutschland Specialized Catalogue.
Hope this helps.

99% of these are FAKES. Real ones are quite rare and are worth quite a bit of money. Post a pic and I should be able to tell if it is one f the more common fakes. |

Right Tinus, that is the reference I was referring to.
Yes too, to the topic of fakes. They are way too plentiful and you have to be careful. I have seen originals in auctions hit the several thousand of dollars mark.
Interesting labels though if you can get them.

Printing should be much sharper. The points on the 3rd Palm Frauen(up from right) should not be rounded. The spaces on the Geometric design should be fairly uniform. Swastika should be Sharp with no blotches. This is without even looking at the paper, which looks incorrect as well.

Hi there folks!
I was referred to this thread after posting an image of a pair of this cinderella I have on another forum I am a member of. I am hopeful of some feedback regarding its authenticity, or lack there of as it appears there are some very knowledgeable members here!

I understand this issue is heavily forged and that chances are good that my copy is one of these forgeries/reprints, but the quality of the print is much sharper on my copy than the others I have seen, and this makes me think I could have an original?
I look forward to any and all feedback, opinions or observations, and Thank-you for your time, I appreciate it!
Have a Good One,

Skilo....I am no expert but I have been collecting WWII stamps for some time. If your stamp is a fake it would be (from the scan I see) one of the better copies I've seen. Not the best quality but nice anyway. Yes there are a ton of fakes out there. |

Hi sharksfan11, Thanks for posting your observations and I completely agree with your comment about the condition. It really is too bad the bottom stamp is torn, the top stamp probably wouldn't be too bad on its own after a cleaning, but I also think the fact this is a pair could be unique, so I'll leave it be. I am hopeful some of the posters from earlier replies in this thread may have an opportunity to post their thoughts as well!
I appreciate the help, Thanks!
