Is this a Cinderella or just a label of some sort? Was it affixed to a disbursement check, perhaps? The "stamp" is perforated on all four sides. I assume it's U.S., although it is not so indicated on the "stamp".

Any ideas? I've had it in a stockbook for years and was never quite sure where it came from or what it was used for.

It looks like a seal of some type. The interlocking keys is a symbol for the the US Treasury Dept. I like it!

This is a package seal that I got from John Hotchner by responding to an article in Linn's a couple years ago.

Both of these are "Money Seals". Used to seal bundles of cash leaving the US Treasury.

Thanks. I never knew what certain "Cinderella" items represented until SCF helped me through. It's a fascinating field of stamp collecting. (In this case, maybe currency collecting?)

Thanks Revstampman. Mine still has some of the brown wrapping attached on the back by a metal device (kind of like a rivet).
