Hi All
This morning I received the Linns Weekly in the mail and I do not subscribe to this publication. I do subscribe to Scott's Monthly and understand that I can get Linn's automatically because of this, but to date, only on the internet. Now, I received their magazing in the regular mail.
Can anyone tell me if Linns will be now included with a subscription to Scotts Monthly in the regular mails now? The address label on the mag states that my subscription runs out in November of 2012. This is also the same date for my subscription for Scott's Monthly ends.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me??
Thank you
Bujutsu

Amos is providing conflicting and confusing information to subscriber's and online.
But in a nutshell, Scott's Stamp Monthly (SSM) will technically cease to exist in the original format. The last issue is November 2010.
What will happen is SSM and Linn's Stamp News will sort of be morphed into one. Once a month, Linn's will have a special issue called Linn's Stamp News Special Edition.
Subscribers are getting conflicting information regarding whether there will be separate subscriptions, what the actual subscription rate is, and whether or not the weekly Linn's will still be in print or in digital format only. As usual, Amos is being good about being inconsistent.

Think of it as a combination of the two publications. SSM will be no more. But once a month, the content that used to be in SSM will appear in a special issue of Linns. If you subscribe to SSM, you'll still get one a month, but it will be branded Linn's. If you subscribe to Linns, you'll still get a weekly issue, but every 4th week it will be the SSM-enhanced issue. Clear as mud? |

Quote: Now, I received their magazing in the regular mail. If I understand what others have been telling me, the remainder of your SSM subscription has been converted to a Linn's subscription, since SSM no longer exists in its previous format. Whatever you do, DO NOT renew you SSM at $31+. Apparently there is a separate offer for ~$13, but I'm guessing that will only give you the digital Linn's weekly? That's where a lot of people are getting confused, because of the different offers. |

Kirk, stop typing while I'm posting. Or, at least do a quick reply post and let me know you're typing -- it would save me a lot of typing! k |

Hi All
Thank you for your help.
I was wondering what was going on and on of my chat room friends was mentioning to me a little over a week ago that he heard something about SSM but didn't have all the info.
It would also appear then that Linns is no longer a paper but a magazine and will not be weekly any more??
Hopefully, this is not another sign of a declining hobby?

I subscribe to the digital Linn's. I received my Linns Special Addition the other day and was surprised by the glossy magazine cover. I have always preferred Linn's over Scott Stamp Monthly (I don't need the WW releases and market updates regularly).
On a sad note, this is the 1st time I've read my Linn's in a few months. It seems I never make the time to log on and read it online (it's easier to be on SCF). Whereas before I read it as soon as it arrived in my mailbox. |

It is confusing - I don't think there will be any real changes, if you have the online subscription only, as everything will still be in the monthly "Super Special Never Seen Before Bargain" monthly issue.
It's the hard copy folks that might be disappointed.
I wonder what the advertisers think. |

Larry, Linn's will be the same all month except one edition when some of the SSM Editorial and others bits join up together. Apart from that, it's as you were regarding Linn's. Those who favoured SSM will probably feel OK too. I guess. Londonbus1...doesn't feel OK. |

Remember when Linns was Linns ? 90 thousand subscribers, over a hundred pages,a stamp trends article that gave stamp values mint and used by country, a large posthorn ad section where you could find fellow collectors to swap with..a classified ad section that seemed endless..little by little it was wittled away !! |

I suscribe to Scott monthly last summer and it doesn't fit your description. Ha! the good old days. Now Scott Monthly is going to merge with Linn. Maybe in the future the paper copy of Linn will be issue every month. Being french I often learn new words on the forum. I look for "wittled" to find out it spell "whittled". |

Spock ??? Unless you're trying to sell me Cheap Drugs from Canada, I didn't get it? I usually have no problem with messages that come through SCF. Your email isn't in your profile, so I can't mail you. Please try again. My email is kirkstephens<at>yahoo.com Thanks, Kirk |
