So I was debating what to do with the old Scotts International Binders I have. no innards, you all got those. I looked at my world album from the 70's, and it's a cheapo Kenmore Commemorative and Pictorial Album. Since I have a subscription to stampalbums.. I decided to print my own pages and re-populate the binders with new pages. One country at a time I guess. Waste not want not.

What do you mean? You're going to print all pages available with Stampalbum little by little. I once find on the internet someone who make pages and he was offering as a package the Worlwide pages since the fist stamp issue. He was warning it fits in many many binders. I wonder at the time how much it would cost to ship that. Daniel |

well these are a the international 3 volume set. I will rebuild it with new pages from countries as I print them out. Will make it the same way it was originally. I have access to many laser printers and good 32 lb paper.. so it is just a matter of time.

I've been scrounging for binders here... I ran out of Scotts I had to repurpose some nasty old high school binders from the early 50's ? that use to use the old 2 ring binders.

For page support, I wouldn't use anything less than a 4 ring. $3.50 each at Officeworks. |

I'm confused by this thread......
I think the pages that are available on the Internet (stampalbums) are all 8 1/2 x 11 and are not the same size as the Scott International or Scott National or Specialized albums.
So I'm confused at some of the comments above.
Also, I've observed that "homemade" albums fetch a much, much lower price than albums that are "official" - minkus, scott, etc.
My short answer is that I would try to use "official" albums, etc. if I'm thinking about resale value. If I'm just collecting, Do what feels GOOD!
Just my 2 cents.

generally people buy the stamps not the albums, and resell the old albums or the pages they dont want, everyone collects different so buy or print what you want. you can print on any size paper, there are printers that handle the Scott size paper. or you can print on normal size paper and still put it in the scotts album. also you can buy a hole punch with screws on the back that allow you to move the punching part. this allows you to set up the pages for 2,3, or scott albums I have one from staples it cost me like $8 six or so years ago. EXAMPLE: of standard paper in a Scott International Album these are home (staples) printed pagers on 8.5 x 11 standard size 67 lbs cover stock (a bit on the heavy side but I like the feel)I also hole punched it for 2,3, and scott international for easy transfer later if I find a better album cover. I'm not sure how to cut post holes for the national albums, as they are more square in the pictures but I don't own one yet. |

the scott national albums, the ones I have are 2 post steel tubing or aluminum. The are a bit oblong but still oval. I punched out the two holes just fine and mounted them fine. To me albums really don't mean squat.. it's the content, a dealer doesn't look at an album he looks at the content. |
