Hi Peter,
gee that's a cracking link for etiquettes, Bravo.
..and the prices! wow.

Looks like you are on your own in this discipline
in the newsgroup.

correction: "Mel Udara" is Turkey

G'day Jerry,
these are the only SCATDA I have (R=registration)

G'Day Rodney,

You do realize that the stamps pictured are NOT etiquettes. The first is a SCADTA regular stamp overprinted 'R' for Registration service. The second is a Consular overprint for use in the United States (EU = Estados Unidos). There are other countries. Just making sure since this is an etiquette thread.

I will dig out the Roosevelt stamps, and the SCADTA etiquettes if I still have them, and send them to you. I believe I have your old address. I see from another topic that you are moving so email me the new address when you can. It'll be a week or so before I can mail them as I have to first catalog a Venezuela collection for my dealer friend.

I agree totally. The prices seem quite astronomical. I pay about 10c each for them or very occasionally get a packet at about 5c each label. I can't get the US ones on display on the site though.

This has me confused. I got my info from this site below.
http://maillabels.blogspot.com/2008...-labels.html
I know Turkey uses "UÇAK ÍLE". Do they use "Mel Udara" as well as Malaysia or is the info on the site wrong? What are your thoughts?

I really appreciate having people to discuss this with. It is great!

Ooops! ( a big Oops)
Yes, you are correct. Malaysia is correct.

Don't hold your breath, but I trade with a guy from
Bosnia, he sends me small boxes of rubbish, reg labels
etiquettes lolly wrappers, slogan cancels, meter cancels,
or whatever, I sift out anything
I like and pass it on.

I'll send you my left overs in the next trade
may be something there for you.

Look at these SCADTA covers on ebay:

http://shop.ebay.com/sis.html?_nkw=...043;Colombia

There is also a Mancomun etiquette.

As far as price, a SCADTA cover, or Mancomun cover, is priced more for the usage than the etiquette.

Also: Here are some Consular Overprints for Germany:

http://www.iusc.org/images/t71306.jpg

and a cover: http://www.iusc.org/images/843180.jpg
with a "Par Avion /Barranquilla-Neiva" etiquette that I haven't seen before.

It is unusual to find the etiquettes off cover but they are out there. I would not know how to price them off cover.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll look out for something to reciprocate with.

The only way not to make an Oops is not to say anything, and that would be an absolute tragedy! I should know, I'm a high school teacher. When I make an oops I make in front of 25 people very eager to point it out. Please, keep making oopses and keep sharing the wealth of your knowledge. We really appreciate it.

Thanks for the info you shared on these SCADTA overprints. I don't have any and have never seen them before but am on the lookout for them (although not at the prices listed on the sites you showed).

Thanks for the offer Rod but I limit it to Airmail etiquettes at the moment. I appreciate your thoughts though.

Very much so,
not necessarily so by "owning" but for post proofing.
especially the Kuwait etiquette, a first for me.
I'll snatch your scans and put them in my database.
Thanks for posting.

Rod,
Have you received the etiquettes I sent you yet? I just remembered I did not put an airmail etiquette on the envelope so it may be coming sea-mail.

Not yet Puzz,
if they are coming by sea mail, they may have dropped
off in Phuket for a Pina Collada.
I mean who wants to be hinged and put in a book for a hundred years?
