Found this strange looking cinderella issued to "Help Fight Asthma":

Looked up the acronym CARIH and came up with "Children's Asthma Research Institute and Hospital" (currently known as National Jewish Health of Denver, CO), suggesting the CARIH name was only used from 1957-1973. Does anyone know when this cinderella would have been issued? The stamp appears to me to be from the 1960's but I'm not sure.

FYI, the hospital's current web site provides this history of the name changes within their organization:

The National Asthma Center has a long history of providing for underprivileged and sick children.

The institution began in 1907 as the Denver Sheltering Home for Jewish Children. The Home was a refuge for poor children who had lost their parents to tuberculosis, or whose parents lay sick for years in nearby National Jewish Health trying to recover from the deadly disease. The institution's name was changed to the National Home for Jewish Children in Denver in 1928.

In 1953, the name was changed to the Jewish National Home for Asthmatic Children at Denver. By that time, the Home's purpose had evolved to being a treatment center for children with asthma - regardless of their religion.

In 1957, the name changed again, to the Children's Asthma Research Institute and Hospital (CARIH). In 1973, the name National Asthma Center was adopted. Under both names, the institution gained a reputation nationally and internationally for its asthma care and research.

In 1978, the National Asthma Center merged with National Jewish Health.

The National Asthma Center is still considered part of National Jewish Health, and its name is still used for fundraising purposes. Funds raised under the National Asthma Center name go to support asthma research and patient care at National Jewish Health.

Thanks to untold passionate doctors and researchers we can
live with this terrible affliction.
I can do a weekend 100km bicycle ride on a few puffs of Ventolin.
I am forever grateful.

Far cry from when I was a tacker and had to stand with
tens of kids under fluorescent lights,in my knickers. That was the treatment.

Both my parents smoked inside, and in the car.

1 in 10 Aussies suffer from Asthma.

Style wise I would guess late 50's to very early 60's. But, this is just a guess.

Those strange-looking Charity seals look much better when in different colours on a page [see post above].

If anyone comes across any other colours I would be interested in an exchange or purchase.

My search for more elsewhere proved fruitless.

Also, if anyone has any other Christmas Seals from this organization, I would be similarly interested.

Thanks
Londonbus1
