You might say that Boy's Town and stamps have a bit of history.

1949 Boys Town Seal was shown previously. Here's the 1950 edition:

Anyone know when Boys Town started issuing seals? Do they go back farther than 1949?

The first Boys Town Christmas Seal issue was 1936.
It was heart-shaped.

The 1949 seal shown above was the 2nd issue.

Boys Town was established in 1917. Their mass mailings resulted in a Bureau precancel being issued. 1055-87

Boys-town is a very interesting and cool place. Everyone should stop and see the Museum. You can Browse stamps. See the stamp ball. Spend some money and /or make a donation. Help some kids.

Warrehouse,

A bit off subject, and while not a Bureau type 87, I have an old precancel from "FARM SCHOOL, PA". Is that not also an institutional use of a precancel?

There are many institutional precancels, most are colleges & universities, some schools, parks & sanitarians.
