I tried it on a Tasmania - Van Diemens Land using light gray card stock, and I think it looks great!

Steve, it is 67 lb acid-free stock from Staples (in Canada).

Thanks BeeSee. That "framing" approach really does bring out the artistic beauty of the stamp. I don't think if it would be practical for me to mount an entire album's worth of stamps like that but it is ideal for showcasing special items.
