These two Christmas stamps and the upcoming 50c Suzor-Cote were the only photogravure stamps printed by the Canadian Bank Note Co.
CBNC from 1968 on used beginning middle of 1969 used only the offset/litho method or combined offset/litho with recess (intaglio).
British American Bank Note on the other hand combined photogravure with recess.

This one was printed by the British American Bank Note Co combining photogravure with recess engraving. Note the blotchy, ragged red & blue colours, typical of photogravure.

Litho, you found some tough ones! But for the George Brown #484 it is on the middle of his right shoulder (left facing us).

I don't think this one has a HD at least I can't find one.

The reason I'm posting it is to show Canada's ugliest stamp ever issued.
It was the last attempt by Canadian Bank Note to print multicolour photogravure.
After printing this horrible mish mash they finally realized they better stick with offset/litho and engraving.

This 1969 date is very small and faint.
