I'm cheekily starting this thread here as I think it's directly relevant to our hobby! If it needs to be moved, that's OK too.

This thread is a direct steal from another forum I used to be on and I make no apologies for copying it, as it's such a great idea that threw up some marvellous pictures.

Take a picture from your "stamp room" or "stamp study" and post it here. Show everyone the environment you enjoy your hobby in.

Here's mine. This is a valley between Leura and Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. I only wish you could hear the birds. Welcome to Australia!

Jubilee, I would much rather be in the bush, like you, but
unfortunately I live in the suburbs, so my view is very basic...

This is why, most of the time, the blinds are left closed.

Are those conifers in the distance in the middle right pane? Wish I could get out the binoculars and have a good look-see. Lovely forest view!

Beautiful Jubilee!
you must be on a mountain top, or your house has 5 stories :)

I have to fudge a bit here, I am not sure where I am having
my new stamp room.
If I have it in the back......
(rhs building tin roof built 1903, the tall hotel 1923)

If I had known we would be appearing, I would have mown
the "lawn" :)

From my front window
( I think it looks too busy!
that building on background right is the Post Office!)
(not sure [yet] when built)

Beautiful old buildings Rod, my kind of thing. My new abode is a two storey western red cedar place, sloping at the back down to a third level, so yes, I'm about 30 feet off the ground. Leura is just a shade under 1000m above sea level.

Well the view from my den window is my backyard and then the neighbour's backyard. Pretty boring really.

But in my den I have some of my postal ephemera posted (these are framed). The oil Sands stamp of 1978 - an issue that I recommended to Canada Post and had approved - and the very nice CAPEX souvenir sheet posterfrom the same year.

Leura...I'll have to go a googling.

Being an Aussie, I just love your outlook, Jubilee
but those trees, they are very scary,
I hope you have a very adequate bushfire program in place.

So far there are three photos of stamp havens. All of them in Australia.... You will have to wait a few more hours until that shiny thing in the sky comes around our way before seeing beautiful Canada!

Nice to see someone else who frames stamps Moonbird.

I have 'em (duplicates) hanging on the toilet door,
( a captured audience :)

The bushfire plan has been let go for a few years by the look of things. We'll be doing some intensive work over the next few weeks to clear around the house, do the gutters etc.

Great topic Jubilee!

Canada someone says? This was taken in 2006 when we had snow, something that is quite rare in this amount for metro Vancouver.

That? Hah! That's nothing. I suppose for the citified types, its bad enough, but...if you don't measure your snow in feet, its just "wintry mix."

Luckily, that's still a ways off (I hope).
