Does anyone have any opinions on the albums made by Lindner? In particular, their Lindner-T Blank System looks intriguing.

Most importantly, I am looking for a good way to store and easily view my FDCs. Right now I am just using sheet protectors in a 3-ring binder, and that system is somewhat less than satisfactory, as you can imagine.

The Lindner albums look really nice, but the price tag! But I'm thinking that if this is one of those cases of "you get what you pay for", it might be worth it to start down that road (no way can I shell out $1500 at one shot, though - but, boy I wish I had that kind of cash-flow).

Stamphop, first of all I want to apologize for calling you stampshop in earlier posts...Lindners are the Cadillac of albums..i don't think I will get any disageement on that..i have a collector friend that has 150 or 200 of them on bookshelves in his stamp room and then I look at my tattered Scott Internationals (i confess I have no Lindners) my mantra is spend on the stamp not the album..but they do look beautiful..he has them color coded..British Commonwealth red, Western Europe blue etc etc..sigh !!

Stamphop,
Why not try one of this or that until you find what you want, or look around at friends' FDC albums, go to some stamp shops, etc and really look at what you might want first. The quality ones are nice, but if you're like me, I want to enjoy my stamps and give them a good home (storage space, etc) without having to see the pale look on my spouse's face when I say, "I need $1,500.00 for storage for my stamps." Which ,BTW, is more than a mortgage payment for us.

I keep telling myself, "A step at a time, a step at a time."

Yeah, that's actually more than TWO of my mortgage payments! Admittedly that is for the complete set of US albums, but as Phil says, that's $1500 not spent on stamps.

One of the things that I particularly like about them is that they don't use hinges. For some reason, I really don't like to use hinges on my stamps. Of course that could just be an over-reaction to seeing that as kids, my sister and I hinged quite a number of mint stamps, including a bunch of blocks-of-3 and blocks-of-4 from the '40s and '50s.

Phil, you know, I never even noticed that you added an extra 's' in my handle. 'stampshop' does make natural sense, probably more than without the 's' unless you know my last name. My wife, when she taught kindergarten, went by Ms. Hop instead of using the full last name. Cute and a LOT easier to say.
