All of these Switzerland stamps are of the Lucerne covered bridge. The bridge was originally built in 1333, spans the Reuss River, and is 496 feet in length. The World Guide number is S-11-01. The stamps, in order of issued date are: Scott B116 issued 1941, Scott 383, issued 1960, Scott 653, issued 1978 and Scott B590, issued 1993.

This United States stamp Scott 4071, issued in 2006 is part of a sheet of stamps on the Wonders of America. This is the Cornish-Windsor covered bridge that spans the Connecticut River between Sullivan County, New Hampshire and Windsor County, Vermont. The bridge was built in 1866, is 480 feet long and is a Town truss. World Guide number is 29-10-09 for New Hampshire and 45-14-14 for Vermont.

Slovakia issued this stamp on 9/14/2000, Scott 362, showing the Kluknava covered bridge, which spans the Hornad River. The bridge was renovated in 1981.

The Pont de Normandie, opened in 1995, is a cable-stayed road bridge that spans the river Seine, linking Le Havre to Honfleur in Normandy, northern France. Its total length is 2,143.21 metres (7,032 ft) with 856 metres (2,808 ft) between the two piers. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the Pont de Normandie, designed by French artist Jean-Paul Véret-Lemarinier (1944- ), engraved by Pierre Albuisson, and issued by France on January 20, 1995, Scott No. 2451, Y&T No. 2923, plus a photo of the bridge.

Le Pont Vieux is a stone bridge, originally built during the Middle Ages, which crosses the Orb River in the southern French city of Béziers. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the Pont Vieux and St. Nazaire Cathedral, designed and engraved by Georges Bétemps, and issued by France on September 7, 1968, Scott No. 1220, Y&T No. 1567, plus a photo of the bridge and cathedral taken from a similar angle.

Battle of the Milvian Bridge

The Battle of the Milvian Bridge took place between the Roman Emperors Constantine I and Maxentius on 28.10.312 on the Milvian Bridge over the Tiber.
Constantine had a vision of the Christian God promising victory if his soilders put XP the first two letters of Christ's name on their shields.
Constantine won the battle and Maxentius drowned in the Tiber.

The Pont de Cheviré is a steel girder/reinforced concrete motorway bridge spanning the Loire River west of Nantes, France. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the bridge, designed and engraved by Pierre Forget, and issued by France on April 27, 1991 to commemorate the inauguration of the bridge, Scott No. 2250, Y&T No. 2704.
