On October 9, 1949 El Salvador issued a four-stamp set of identically-designed air mail stamps to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union. Here is the 10 centavos value (Sc #C123) of the set.

The 1890-98 Seebeck-era stamps of El Salvador were printed by the Hamilton Bank Note Company of New York. Here is the one peso value (Sc #85) from the 1893 definitive set bearing the portrait of President Carlos Ezeta.

This December 1, 1978, 60 kr stamp (Facit #573) of Iceland commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Life Saving Association. Stamp depicts "The salvage in 1947 of the English fishing-cutter Dhoon at Latrabjarg" (Facit).

Here is Iceland's December 1, 1978 150 kr stamp Facit #575) commemorating the birth centenary of Halldor Hermannsson (1878-1958). Hermannsson was an author, librarian, scholar, and professor at Cornell University (USA).

On February 1, 1954 Falkland Islands Dependencies issued this 9 d stamp (Sc #27) as a part of its Ships pictorial definitives set.

On 16th April 1953, India issued a commemorative stamp in black in 2 Anna denomination to mark the Centenary of Railways.

A 20P. commemorative stamp in Black was issued by India on 16th October 1972 to mark the 300th Birth Anniversary of 'Vemana', Poet & Philosopher.

India issued on 25th January 1987 a Rs.6.50 stamp in BLACK to mark the inauguration of AFRICA FUND. Here 'AFRICA' is an acronym to indicate 'Action for Resisting Invasion, Colonialism and Apartheid'.

Here is Ireland's July 30, 2015, 70c stamp commemorating the centennial of Pearse's August 1, 1915 graveside speech for O'Donovan Rossa. The oration was an important element in the progression of events leading to the Easter Rising of 1916.

Here is the 5c value (SG #137) from Somaliland Protectorate's 1953 definitive series. Stamp shows a dromedary carrying a gurgi, a tent or hut and its curved, wooden supports.

On May 8, 1946 French Guiana issued a seven-stamp set to commemorate the first anniversary of victory over Germany in WWII. Here is the low value, 8f stamp (Sc #C11) from this set.

This 1c stamp (Sc #51) of French Guiana depicts a giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla). It is the low value from the colony's long, pictorial definitive series of 1905-28 (36 values).
