To whom it may concern:
I would like to suggest recognition of four Canadian postal events which have anniversaries in 2011.
They are the 160th anniversaries of the first stamps issued by Canada and New Brunswick, and the 150th anniversary of the first stamps issued by Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
I am sure you will agree that a stamp, or series of stamps to mark these events will fulfill the conditions set for a Canadian stamp to be considered for printing.
As for designs, it is difficult to think of anything but the famous three penny beaver for the Canadian stamp even though it has been a stamp-on-a-stamp at least twice before........I expect your designers can come with another variation on the theme.
The first New Brunswick stamp (3d red) has been commemorated in 1991-92 on an envelope. Perhaps this time, the 6d olive yellow or the 1/ bright red violet or dull violet could be used as a basis.
Nova Scotia's 1d red brown would be a good subject ; and, the 2d dull rose from Prince Edward Island would serve well .
I urge you to give serious consideration to my suggestion to mark these important events in Canadian Postal History.
Wishing you well in your deliberations,

Maybe like-thinkers will also want to send a copy or their own suggestions.
BTW
I put a block of four #314 (CV $7.20) on the envelope just to drive home the point.
