Good morning. After finding no cards or covers back in 2017, I had the same trouble yesterday. Nothing!
But, then there's today. In the eight years since I posted those cards and covers, I've picked up seven covers and cards. Some a bit rough.

Like Mendocino, rough but still surviving

Eureka & Hydeville

Eureka & Hydesville, Ca., 27 miles, 1889-1895 May 29 1889--Jun 17 1895 6 years.
985-J-1: Eureka & Hydeville R .P.O., 26.5, black, 1895, Misspelling, R III
In 1895 the line became Eureka & Scotia.

Arthur, a very small town between the two cities vying for County seat, (Ukiah & Calpella) the P.O. opened Feb 19,1903 and closed Dec 15,1905.

Duffey,

Eureka,

Boonville,

and Potter Valley.

I collect most of California's Redwood Empire , Humboldt & Mendocino counties, including the RPOs that ran through them. Any town or city I mention is located in one or the other.
My primary sources are
California Town Postmarks 1850 - 1935 compiled by John H. Williams & the Western Cover Society
Mobil Post Office Society RPO Catalog, MPOS U. S. Route and Station Agent Catalog, and the MPOS RPO Directory and AGT Directory
California Postmaster Compensation compiled by Alan H. Patera

Two for today.
Frank, a contender for Humboldt's smallest town. Opened 13, Jul 1892, closed Jan 31, 1903. Postmaster compensation for 1901 (only odd years reported) was $19.44

and Willits.

Uuuuuummm... OK

Have to confess, just browsing the posts scrambled my brain a bit... you all actually have things sorted by DATES?? Good gravy, my ADD/ADHD counters the OCD so I am simply amazed you all can put your hand (scanner?) on the correct date cover for the day!

(gasp!)

Uhh, yep. Can't help it, just read postmarks that way, and keep track the same way, Town, day, month, year. I also abbreviate State the same as the postmark. I use Microsoft's OneNote, (searchable) here's what the listings look like. Get a bit confusing on the 18th & 19th every month.

That darn (edited) train. Carried mail but was not a RPO, can't re-locate the paragraph that tells what that type of carriage is called.

I found five postmarks for today, one here;

Today it's Ukiah, Cal.

and Ukiah, Oreg. incoming

Petrolia,

and Yager's last day.

stallzer - that White House one is nifty. No "free" markings needed, just the "penalty" mention!
