Elk,

Feb 29, I didn't get this post card until last year, so for me, it's early.

Four today.

Punta Arenas, (The first Post office opened in Mendocino County June 2,1858, will become Point Arena in January 1889) has no clear day, but looks to me to be a single digit, a scarce postmark!

Ukiah,

Berkeley, one of a few that aren't addressed to or postmarked from somewhere in Humboldt or Mendocino counties, but the view side shows early logging equipment. So, I'll also show that side also.

and Wendling.

A single cover today.

Arcata. This is Arcata's first postmark. The Williams' book California Town Postmarks 1850 - 1935 shows only one usage date, a Sep 17 1862 for the earliest use and a Mar 30 1865* for an estimated late use.

Only one today, the main "Lost Coast" town, after this town faded away, the rest disappeared. My cover by decade list shows a Moody Mar 3, 1909, but couldn't find it.

This card is a Post Office order form # 1567 for supplies for the very short-lived town of Andersonia, Jul 26, 1904 to Aug 31, 1905.
During final construction of the mill, a large beam fell from the rigging and hit the owner in the head, killing him, the mill, the town, the railroad, and the proposed port at Bear Harbor.
California Town Postmarks 1850 - 1935 list Dec 13 1904 as EKU and Jan 21 1906 as LKU.

Andersonia, both sides,

Edit for spelling, added hit
