Saudi Arabia issued several series of stamps using this basic design, over a period of 15 years or so. The stamp features Wadi Hanifa Dam, the languages used are Arabic and French (latter being the official language of the UPU at the time) : The design in the oval ("cartouche") is the stylised name of King Saud bin Abdulaziz al Saud, other stamp series feature a similar cartouche bearing the name of King Faisal. |

From the Republic of Lebanon, two stamps showing waterfalls: Litani - Afka - Incidentally both stamps were designed by Paul Koroleff, a Russian who fled his country in the 1920's and ended up designing many Lebanon and Syria stamps from the 1930's. |

Water Skiing Championships, Vichy, France1963 This stamp always gives me a bit of a laugh, it's somewhat campy, but also very fun. Engraved by Pierre Gandon (1899-1990). A beautifully executed design. |

The very first sentence on this thread says it all and here is a stamp for Earth Day, today, from Morocco, not blessed with very much water. Unusual is the 'upside-down' drop. |
