(edit:Changed old title (Oman 1995 actually used Dunes stamp) to new one above.)

Wish they had left more of the cover attached (and the stamp wasn't torn). It would be nice to have seen the cancel in one piece.

I think this is the first stamp from the Dunes countries that I have seen postally used. That is if it is postally used.

1995 is well after the "dune" era. The sultanate of Oman is a legitimate country, and used stamps can be found.

Ah, thanks Bee See. It's actually a nice stamp with all the ornate embossed leaves and flowers around on the surround (thought they were fish before I looked closer).

On this scan they look embossed into the stamp from the front but actually they are embossed outward from the back.

And gee, that large emerald sure looks like a hexagon shape to me. Wish fulfillment I suppose.

It's a souvenir sheet stamp. I had been thinking I had a top margin copy of a full sheet for a minute there.

The year is on the stamp in the light grey lettering below the portrait. I figured it would help somehow.

Hi Puzzler, I think your one's from an ordinary sheet. The grey strip above the stamp on the souvenir sheet isn't as wide as this.
