We are finally up and limping on E-bay.
Does anybody know if we can use the one E-bay account to list with both E-bay.com and also E-bay.com.au?
We would very much like to sell on E-bay's world wide site and also Australia's E-bay site. Can anybody help us with this? How can we do this?
A confused KGV needs help!

If it helps any, in Canada we can use both, so it should be the same in Australia. Edit: By both, I mean ebay. c a and .com |

ebay doesn't really have a worldwide site per se. When you list in UK there is an option for it to appear worldwide for a small fee of course. You can also just list it on your local site and ensure you select that you will post worldwide. This then puts the onus on the buyer to select search worldwide and comes with its own problems posting to some less than reliable areas of the world. From the horses mouth - also the ebay seller forums might have some useful tips too. http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/que...rements.html |

The answer is that yes you can. You can log into ebay.com with your same user name and password as ebay.com.au. If you're on that site when you list, that's the site it will be on. You can still see it as an item you're selling in My ebay summary even if you then go and log into the Australian ebay. There are plenty of Australian stamp sellers who list directly on ebay.com. I often buy stamps from ebay.com since I'm collecting US, and I find that searching for US from the Australian site just doesn't bring up the same results, even if I select international sellers. I usually just list stamps on the Australian site however as Anthony has said, and just select post worldwide. I get just as many overseas buyers as Australian just doing that. Balf |

Thanks for all the help. Our first listing was E-bay.com.au. Our 2nd listing was E-bay.com. We had a lot of trouble with the 1st .com listing. The .com listings are no longer a problem. It does say on E-bay that we need a score of 10 before we can list .com. E-bay has excepted us so that is the most important. Our intent has been honest.
One of our SCF members has helped us with getting started with E-bay and has followed us all the way through our mistakes with great patience. We can not thank them enough. It took a lot of E-mails to get some of the message across. But their patience came through for us and we give our helper a special thank you on SCF!
All of this just shows how special it is to be a SCF member. Through stamping to friendship. Amazing stuff! John and Family |

5 months later! Things have changed. We list soully on .com now and 9 in 10 of our buyers are Australian. Have a feedback score of 101 at 100% and have sold 216 items or lots. New laptops purchased by proceeds as our old computer dies, amazing! 3hrs for doing images now takes 20mins with change to the laptop. And I look forward to the speed of listing tomorrow. Thinking about an ebay shop. Lots to list! |

Really great to hear an update on your ebay stamping journey, and such a positive post. I'm really happy for you, well done, lots of hard work I'm sure, and now you're seeing the benefits. Long may it last |

First change was because we live in Australia and list with .com and we received a world sellers rating about 6 weeks ago which is a new rating for .com. Yesterday we were called an inter boarder seller because we use a au pay pal account and list with .com. ebay and pay pal are now holding back our payments. Which means that payments on lots sold yesterday will be held back to the end of next month if all goes well. We can get over this with a bitter taste in the mouth. But for somebody that just wants to sell some stamps for a bit of fun ebay is telling them they are not welcome on ebay. How sad is that. KGV |

Seems a hardship indeed. When I am selling stamps for others (last year) I personally have made the decision to wait 30-45 days after the payment (depends on amount too) in case the buyer does a charge back through PayPal or a credit card (depending on how they pay) before I can release money from PayPal to the owner (me being the seller). Sounds similar to me but I think that perhaps this new rule and rules from ebay (Londonbus1 in Israel experienced same or similar) (I have not yet in Canada)) that there must be some new laws in the USA that are restricting how PayPal is allowed to move money across borders internationally. Perhaps nothing to do with PayPal itself. Maybe even a collaboration with Customs or that department that tracks fraud and money laundering? PayPal seems an easy way for that to happen, the little I know of it anyway. Now excuse me while I check my Krugerrand accounts in the Cayman Island's and Switzerland! Honey, where did I put those passwords? Honey? Honey! . . . Now where did she go? Nothing is as constant as change. |

Well today the 17th Jan is our date for being on ebay 12 months. The answer to this threads question is .com only is the go. ebay .com 10c for gallery and a listing cost under 99c. ebay .com.au 70c to 90c for the same listing. 1100 items have had feed back. We have a feed back score of 398 at 100%. Then there is all the lots that people have not left feed back. |

You are doing some good selling to have multiple buys from the same customers. Good work. It is unfortunate that ebay is split into seemingly many different companies around the world that do their business differently, but also good that you can chose to list on the best one for you and your customers. |

As my 2nd year apprenticeship ends on ebay and my 3rd year starts many things have changed. We are now a .com.au store. We have just reached 1500 positive feedbacks. We have been very blessed by the type of stock we have managed to win. It makes the work load the same but the income more so. Hoping this trend will increase through our 3rd year. This is hopefully the one area that experience and income will help and that is making more than the guy flipping burgers at "Mccas". Thank you very much to all that have helped us. It means a great deal to all of us here. |

On items where you have exact multiples, take advantage of the "Second Chance" feature; it is far superior to listing a quantity of (say) 4 of the same item at the same price. By using it, you already know exactly what a buyer will pay, although you have no way of knowing whether he will follow through. Still, I like it better. |

Another year has passed and my 3rd year apprenticeship comes to an end and what a 3rd year it has been.
The biggest thing to happen was there ended up being not enough time to do everything as the business has grown so much.
A couple of small organising changes cut the work load down by more than half.
Another change is I no longer do any scanning plus I get help in preparing all the lots to sell as well.
Our selling area is firmly in place now which also has helped because I can do Australia 1990 to 2013 with my eyes closed. As I have done so much of it.
