My reply with the quote below in mind.

"To be honest with you, we really can't replicate the issue you are encountering on our end so it's quite hard for us to fix something that is not happening on our end."

So I sent them an email screen shot of the ebay standard cropping tool not working because of a white out from a 3rd different computer being a windows 8. Nice touch don't you think!

Now to see what can happen. No harm in trying. This also gives a nice touch to the email to ebay.

" I really think that I should be getting a free anchor store for the rest of this year as a goodwill gesture considering what ebay has put me through and the cost involved."

Hi Puzzler.

Got a nice reply from ebay. Did not get yes or a no interestingly.

But got recognition that it has been an issue for far to long.

I am to wait to hear what the Technical Team has to say.

Nice to have a response.

I still feel that ebay and me gets better service when I control things here somehow. However, not being a Harry Potter wizard or anything or computer expert, I make do. Makes me feel better.

Have you tried other programs or apps to edit pictures or other help with other duties required? It is extra steps sometimes maybe but I do that myself with most thnings, incoming and previously outgoing.

Thigs feel btter when I can do them myself.

A larger store is a larger responsibility though and more consuming. . . and fun.

Hi Puzzler.

I really like to crop as I list as it is a very quick way of doing it and I get to see a very good image of the stamp just before I list it.

At the minute my scanner person is cropping with the computer image file tools. So no scanning.

I would like my scanner person back scanning and not cropping so I can stop scanning!

An amazing 6 month journey with ebay.

I have neither received nor sent emails that have info from this thread or any other at that.

Maybe some program on the web is scanning your emails and grabbed one, an update or something and included it or something? Strange.

My tecos say it is an ebay issue being the white when cropping and have sent screen shots of the issue to them from 3 different computers.

ebay's answer is after 6 months:

"I am sending this email to give you an update with regard to the issue I escalated to our Technical Tea, with regard to the issue you are having with your crop tool."

"They've informed me that they've tried and checked everything to replicate the issue on their end and they are not able to. They can use the crop tool on their and it works perfectly fine. I am afraid to inform you but there is nothing we can further do since the crop tool is working on our end."

Another issue!

The answer to a very nasty pop up that appears over the relist button with about 25% of these listings.

ebay's answer is:

"Thanks for your reply along with the screenshot.

Basically, for us, that is not a pop up. That is a reminder function and it comes up if if you hover your mouse over the (?) question mark icon. That is something that we cannot remove from the site and is a part of the site to help out most customers."

So what do I do.....................Very sad!

I have empathy for your problems but after spending a decade developing hardware and software also understand the challenges that these issues represent.

First, consider the fact the no two computers are the same. Even if you were to buy the exact same model computers one week apart, chances are that they will contain slight different components. This is significant because this then means they might have different firmware/software drivers. Then, of course, we have various operating systems and versions of operating systems. While we might all start with the same operating system/version we quickly customize them with the addition of various applications, updates, and security patches. Then we must consider the browser situation. Not only do no two browsers work the same, but each browser version can render a web page differently. (Which is why each of us should always run at least two different browsers on every computer.)

Following this…now consider the fact that the technological landscape is constantly evolving. Not only do developers have to support the older legacy, systems but new devices and software are being released every week.

So when you consider all of the above it is amazing we do not have more problems than we do. I do not mean to defend ebay too much but understand about all they can do is try to replicate the issue. To do this they start with 'virgin' computers with fresh operating system and browser installs. These do not have various other apps or plug-ins installed so they often come up short in being able to replicate the issues.

Thank You Don.

With your information + just helping a friend with selling on ebay from a windows 8. It is a totally different experience than my windows 7.

Just sent a reply to ebay. But it does sound like I am done like a dogs dinner!

So I got together a reply to this one from ebay:eBay reply 1st. This has been going on for 6 months!

My Reply:

"Your Technical Team needs to use a window 7 computer to be able to replicate the issue on their end and they will be able to see that the crop tool is not working.

I repeat that I have sent you screen shots from 3 different computers. 1 being my own computer and 2 other computers by them sending me an email and then I have taken a screen shot and sent this to you. This proves that the cropping issue is ebay's and not my computer.

Thank You. I await a positive response."

ebay's Reply:

"I've contacted our Technical Team again. I will update you as soon as I received an update from them.

Should you have other questions, please let us know. Take care!"

My Next Reply:

I know that ebay can see me working on an ebay page. This would be a good way to see the issue I have had for 6 months!
