Show Austro-Hungarian Empire postmarks on stamps here, including Lombardy-Venetia. If you can, identify the town name and what country it is currently located, and what is the new name if it has changed. If you do not know, someone else will!

I already posted this stamp in another thread, Fiume, 1870, now called Rijeka, in Croatia.

Milan, Lombardy Venetia, 1850, now in Italy

Rakek, 1899, now in Slovenia

Nice. I'm tempted to repost my Austria outliers from the bullseye thread, but I'll scan some new ones when I get a chance.

Cjd: I had missed your bullseye post, yes they belong here, maybe someone can determine more about the "Brac" or "Bran" cancel.

Philby: I wonder where that was posted.

This looked better before I scanned it. Enlarging this does not do it any favors. A recent arrival that I haven't researched yet.

Here's four from me. I have no idea what any of these place names are.

(1) 'KEMELB'?

(2) 'KISZETO'?

(3) 'FPAN'?

(4) 'KLOBOUKY'?

Kiszetó. Pmk type: E 3.20 (round, Y/M/D, month abr. in letter). Kiszetó now in Romania (Chisătău is it`s actual name). This postmark in Kiszetó used from 1886 till about 1909. Not considered a rare postmark (not especially searched- about 50 points on these stamps), although this one is really nice. 6 different postmarks were used in Kiszetó between 1825-1909 - Kiszeteo (oval, pre-stamp), Kiszetho (oval, pre-stamp), Kiszeto (2 type), Kiszetó (2 type- this one is the second). The stamp: it`s Hungarian, catalogued as Hungarian. It seems to me the position of 5 a bit unusual, I`ll check.

Thanks for the info, Wadmalatz!

By the way, the last one, I've now established, is Valašské Klobouky, a small town in the Zlín Region, Czech Republic.

No luck as yet with the other two.

Google isn't terribly helpful here - it keeps diverting me from the letters I've typed to other words (sometimes quite different words) it thinks I meant to write!

Jimjam, your third one is Pfander, in Vorarlberg, Austria, high in the mountains I believe. Nice group you have!

Edit: Or maybe not? Spelling PF or FP?

BeeSee, it's definitely an unpronounceable 'FP' not 'PF'!

Thus the mystery!

I wonder if it is a spelling error. PF is common in German, but never heard of FP.
