Does anyone have a favorite computer software program that they actually use and get use from. I have seen a few of them and not sure which one is better. I want to be able to print out want lists, input costs and etc.

I use the Database program that comes with Windows XP, or any Windows operating system. I am able to custom make my own 'stamp logs' to record all of my stamps by Scott#. I am able to custom make each page for entering the information I desire. The database programs that come with Windows are very self explanatory. I have tried other software programs and they were not as complete as I had wanted.

You should have a program that has a 'Word processor' and a 'Database" program. Find that and open the "Database' program. When it opens it gives you the option to run a tutorial that will show you how to make columns and rows for your individual needs. Sorry, but my browser does not allow me to post pictures here...bummer! Find the dadtabase program within Vista. Once you do, let me know....the tutorial will walk you through the program.

Welcome to the community Zaro.

I looked at a number of the packaged stamp inventory products and personally found them expensive and cumbersome. I put together an inventory system using Excel spreadsheets. I can print out inventories, want lists, collection values, etc. The same thing can be done with a database like Access, but it is generally a little more difficult. It takes a moderate level of experience to build fully functional spreadsheets or databases, but it doesn't take any skill that can't be learned in a week or two by someone who is computer literate.

Good Luck!
