Cynical, you beat me to the punch.
When I saw the British police car, all I could think of was the series "Heartbeat". I watch it every Saturday night. In fact, I jokingly refer to the series as the "Greengrass Saga" <G>

Poland 1951 Scott 517, commemorating Feliks Dzierzynski (1877–1926) This delightful Polish-born character started the Cheka, the Soviet Secret Police. He died of a heart attack after a marathon 2 hour speech, bit of divine retribution there.. There is heaps of Soviet-era philatelic material regarding him, although bit by bit his various statues, monuments & street names are being moved, stored, re-named. The purges that he was a part of have come full circle. |
