Well this is the oddest cancel I have, for India. A typical QV half anna green but the cancellation is in red and has a double line right down the center. Anyone have any ideas what is going on?
I doubt that the lines are part of the cancellation. More likely, they're a sort of theft prevention device, which is commonly found on these stamps. (More often, it takes the form of words like 'Stamped' written across the stamp.)
Squared circle postmark with "?? YAPORE" remnants. Struck across by company clerk twice by hand as theft prevention from the cover. I doubt the red splodge has anything to do with the stamp postally. Looks like red india ink schoolchildren used to use.
