This June 18, 1943 wartime slogan cancel of Germany is a result of the relentless allied bombing campaign. Slogan reads, "Refrain from making private calls on the telephone after air raids!" 8 pf. franking indicates local mailing weighing less than 20 grams. Worms 2 post office was at 5 Bahnhofstrasse. With old Germany, in very many cases, the "2" post office was near the main train station.  |

Here is Belgium's April 12, 1980 stamp commemorating 50th anniversary of RTT, the country's national telegraph and telephone company. In 1991, RTT (Regie des Telegraphes et Telephones) officially changed its name to Belgacom.  |
