those are nice..

Jeff,
If you don't want all these dups. Create a few packets of one of each and offer them for sale on this forum.
I am sure you could get some people to buy them. In fact I am positive.

Jeff,

How many I guess is up to you. Depending on how many different dupes you have you could offer packets by country.
As for price, I would let auction style terms decide. Depending on what you feel the value is, start at that price plus postage.
If you have 10 different dupes from a country then make a packet of 10, if there are 20 different stamps then a packet of 20. It is really up to you to decide, it depends on your supply.

Jeff,

Maybe a heads up on those Brazilian stamps? I hope you gave them a close look. There are 9 different SC#s for that design, color and value: 229, 251, 271, 336, 280, 437, 492, 472, and 463A. They differ by shade, perf and wmk. The 463A has a 2009 SC value of $150 used.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

RPO collectors might be interested in this cancellation from your post:

That's a relatively rare Pt. Rowan & Hamilton railway cancellation, given a rarity factor of 100 ("fairly rare") in the T.P.G. Shaw catalogue. That means the value of a full cancellation is 100 times greater than the normal catalogue value. Unfortunately the train number is a bit messy, probably 233 but it's not as clear as the rest of the cancel. Still, a good find for somebody interested in RPO cancels.

I haven't read all the post in this thread, but you could make up packets and give them to charities, veteran groups, churches, scouts, kids, schools, senior homes, a local stamp club etc. Another suggestion is to use our buy/sell/trade area.

Going by Ryan's suggestion of 100 times the value (I don't have the Shaw catalogue but want it) I think you would go 0.25 x 100 = 25.00 x 0.225 (22.5%) = $5.62 start price in auction format on ebay.

I have found over the years that that percentage seems to be the area at which a bid is attracted. Any higher and people are reluctant to bid. Then, once you have a bid and other people see that they will look and see what is the nice item that someone wants. people copy people, survival instinct. Worth a shot anyway.

Clean it up a bit and get a nicely centered scan and show a back scan alos if possible. The more pics the more chance of a sale.
