Continental Night Mail I believe. A service from the UK to the continent with an extra fee to travel overnight instead of next day.

Thanks for the info, guys. I just bought this item on ebay on a whim - the auction was just closing when I discovered it so I wasn't in a position to do any research about what I was buying first!

It is indeed "Continental Night Mail". This postmark was used on the London to Dover TPO. There was also a "French Day Mail" postmark from the same TPO.

I just found one on Delcampe that I want, but the seller will only sell to Europe!! Why do sellers limit their market so stupidly?

(it's a real cheapie, but it fits one of my collections nicely)
