My stamps are a nice diversion for me right now-- a health crisis in our home with my wife- diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with Breast Cancer, and a recent bilateral mastectomy. We don't have family here in Tennessee, so a friend of hers from back in Wisconsin came and spent a week, and then her sister from Michigan is here until tomorrow. I've left them all alone-- it's been nice for my wife to have some great, quality time with them, and I've been posting to SCF, buying on ebay, scanning my collection, and using this to keep my mind away from the health issues.........not trying to be a bummer-- but the stamps have been a great diversion! Thanks, Ray |

Oh, ray.mac that's devastating news! Best wishes and prayers to you and your Wife from both my Wife and myself. I've been through this type of thing and am dealing with the non-radiative chemotherapy at this very moment. My stamps are my only link to sanity sometimes so I know what your saying. ~Jeff & Amy |

Thanks to the Philb mother lode, and his Bulgarian lot, my Bulgarian collection just tipped over 1000, which means I have 25% of a full collection.

Congrats with the milestone, rod222. If you want a real challenge you can always try to find them postally used. Still working on my Canadian stamps. Been working through an accumulation of Canadian stamps I picked up, and have already found a few interesting stamps there. |

Thanks Yobo, I'll leave that to the masochists I do like it when a collection starts to "bulk out" and grow (even with cto's) It becomes a pleasure to find the more scarcer copies, but kinda means one has to join ebaywhich I have not done yet. 25% is a fairly bulky album, I cant imagine a full collection. |

I know the feeling, rod222. It is great to see the collection grow, adding to it stamp by stamp. |

Working on my 3 year old collection of Australia pre-decimal stamps. Roos and KGV will make your head spin sometimes. |

I work on them, when I bored working on everything else. Even the pre decimal definitives are tricky, with wmks, and perf variations. |

I stumbled across this fascinating thread - and I think yobo's old thread could deserve a bump. Such an open-ended question is always relevant.
I've just completed an update on my Greece collection. A large box filled with Greek stamps has been sorted, and filled quite a lot of empty spaces. I had almost forgotten the beauty and thrill of Greek stamps, so it has been some nice days of stampiness! |

After a little bit of a hiatus with the hobby (summer/outside/other hobbies) I hope to get back into it starting this evening by sorting and cataloging various covers and items I have picked up over the past 6 months. |

Just clearing the decks for a box of seven large stock-books of Cuba, which should be arriving next week. Probably just as well that I lost out on the other auction lots! |

I've been getting my German stamps remounted in the Schaubek albums I bought some months ago. I made the mistake of thinking I'd save a few bucks by buying regular albums for my DDR collection rather than hingeless. All I do all day now is measure and cut mounts. I did the numbers and realize I've spent more on buying mounts than an upgrade to hingeless would have cost. I have been at it for weeks and am now up to around 1982, not much left to do. |
