Yes , of course :) Not good at guessing.

Stamp 1 is possibly SG147 1883 dull green minCV
stamp 2 is possibly SG258 1899 4c yellow CV GBP3

I agree on the identifications with Rod. However, there is also a rare (£6000) perf 12 version of the first stamp, and an inverted watermark is known with the ordinary perf 14 (£80 used).

Might as well have a look ...

Got them re-scanned of the stacked three above filed as 1872-85.

And are these remarks legit? I can't find 28 cent at all.

There are so many possibilities for the 2 cent, you'd need to identify the watermark and perforation first.

The 28 cent on 32 cent looks to be SG 190 of 1885 (£26 mint/£2.50 used).

The sad remains of the 1 Rupee 12 cents look to be either SG 175 (if perf 12½) (£110 used) or SG 176 (perf 12½x14) (£45 used) of 1885.

I've yet to buy any lighter fluid... or attempt the watermark exploration. presume I should not begin with these?

Why not start here? You'll have to do it sometime. But before lashing out on lighter fluid, you could try simply placing the stamps face down on a black surface, or holding them up facing towards a strong light - that's often sufficient to show up the watermark.

Then you'll need to get to work with your trusty perforation gauge.
